Call to Me and I Will Answer!
It has been nearly 31 years since my grandfathers death, and 11 years since my grandmothers. I will admit, I miss them. I wish they could have seen what their influence created. Yet I know that one day we will be reunited, and what a day that will be! As an adult, I spent allot of time with my grandmother. I enjoyed her company and loved being in her presence. When she was diagnosed with cancer my time with her became even more special. She was a great cook! She would make Puerto Rican dishes that was off the hook!!! Yet I knew that if I did not learn from her before she passed, I would never know how to make those special dishes. So one weekend I had grandma over and we spent time in the kitchen cooking! It was so much fun! It was like watching Picasso paint a picture! She taught me to make some Puerto Rican dishes that to this day I cook with her in mind! You know there is a passage in Jeremiah that reads:
Here was Jeremiah locked up in prison. He had been speaking on God's behalf, yet the king did not liked what he heard, and threw him in prison. While in prison Jeremiah prays and shoots the breeze with God. Yet in Chapter 33 we see the following words...'Call to me and I will answer you and tell you great and unsearchable things you do not know.' In the midst of Jeremiah's woes, God said 'Call me and I will answer you!' God does not stop there though.....'I will tell you great and unsearchable things you do not know!' Let that sink in! Because I asked my grandmother to show me her secrets in the kitchen, she shared with me some ingredients that made the food come alive! Can you imagine what would happen if we just ask God to show us those special ingredients for our lives! I am not talking about a business plan or how to be a great leader. I am talking about you. So many times we try to do things in our lives that we think is going to work, without consulting God. Issues arise in our life that have imprisoned us, keeping us from fulfilling what God has in store for us. We feel like Jeremiah, stuck in prison. Allow me to encourage you today. In God's presence we are given the secrets to our call and gifts! In God's presence we are restored. Because I asked, my grandmother came...she shared her secrets...I was given a revelation and I became a blessing to those I cooked for. How much more do you think God would do for you. When you ask...God will come...He will share his secrets for your life...you will be given a revelation so that you may become a blessing to those you come in contact with. God's promise...'Call to me and I will answer you'.
His call. His gifts. Your purpose. Irrevocable.

While Jeremiah was still confined in the courtyard of the guard, the word of the LORD came to him a second time: "This is what the LORD says, he who made the earth, the LORD who formed it and established it—the LORD is his name: 'Call to me and I will answer you and tell you great and unsearchable things you do not know.' Jeremiah 33:1-3
