Action Speak Louder Than Words -James 2:14-26

James challenges the idea that faith alone is not sufficient for others to see the hope of Christ in us.  We must understand that through all circumstances our actions must always point to our faith....Jesus my savior!

Summer Series 2013: Part 1 - Trust in the Lord

Let’s pick up where we left last week….I shared about my nephew and his new found trust in me.   Each day at the pool it was the same thing, “Uncle catch me.”   “Uncle take me for a ride.”   In the hotel room, “let’s jump on uncle time”.   “Let’s play a game with uncle.”   It was so much fun and brought joy to my heart knowing that my nephew and I were bonding.   His trust in me opened up and our relationship grew.   I think you may know where this is going…. When we read Proverbs 3:5 we always see it through our eyes.   Yet have you taken a step back and seen it through the eyes of the Lord?     I felt so much joy with my nephew!   I miss the kid and can’t wait to see him again!   What brings me joy is knowing that he trust me.   As I began to reflect on this moment, I started thinking, “If I feel these emotions, then how does God our Father feel when we say, “I trust you.””   I know life gets difficult and ...

Summer Series Face to Face with God Week 4: Hey God...

When I was a kid, I remember a time when I stayed in the car while my mother went to pick up some groceries. I was about eight or nine years old at the time, and I thought I was the funniest kid around. Construction was taking place in the parking lot, as new pavement was getting ready to be poured. The workers were gone, and everything had been set in place for work the next day. I noticed an older kid playing in the construction site with his bike. One could tell he was pretending to be a motocross biker as he tackled mounds of dirt, as if they were small hills that threw him in the air. Each jump was meet with concentration. Thinking I had an opportunity to have some fun, I cracked the window and yelled, in what I thought was a deep voice, "Hey! Get out of there!".
